The Chocolate Chips Association is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization in Lake County, IL, and its mission is to provide the opportunity for young girls to gain greater exposure to the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Art and Math (S.T.E².A.M.).
The Association strives to create a learning environment that uplifts and motivates individuals through activity-based educational curriculum, greater cultural awareness, mentoring and promoting healthy lifestyles.
Who we serve:
Chocolate Chips core S.T.E².A.M. program is for girls in 2nd to 5th grades. Our core program collaborates with Girls Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana to support minority girls in Lake County, IL. Program year is September to May.
We continue our S.T.E².A.M. focus and support girls in 5th to 8th grades with a Robotics program partnering with YWCA TechGYRLS. Program year is August to December.
The Chocolate Chips Association Leadership also supports local schools and community groups with S.T.E².A.M. activities for youth. For the 2017 / 2018 year, Chocolate Chips Association leadership is hosting STEM workshops at the following locations: Oakdale Elementary School, Waukegan Housing Authority Armory and Barwell Homes, and Heart of the City Soccer Team.
