Mission and Vision:
Chocolate Chips Association is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization headquartered in Lake County, IL. Its mission is to instill a passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Art and Math (S.T. E².A.M.) in girls, with a goal of increasing interest in STEAM related careers among under represented girls.
Chocolate Chips Association supports each participant in reaching their full potential by providing an engaging educational curriculum and mentorship, while instilling values that promote cultural awareness and healthy living. Participants graduate from Chocolate Chips Association with a greater level of confidence and desire to succeed. Serving youth within the local community is Chocolate Chips Association's ultimate goal.
Who we serve:
Chocolate Chips Association Programs are for Girls who are underserved and underrepresented in the STEAM fields.
How we serve:
Core S.T. E².A.M. Program- Supports Lake County girls in 2nd – 5th grades. Program hosted two Saturdays per month from September to May and includes S.T. E².A.M. workshops, life skills classes, and STEM field trips. (Registration required)
S.T. E².A.M. Workshops Program - Also supports girls in 2nd - 5th grades and workshops are presented monthly at Lake County Elementary Schools and Community Groups.
2017 / 2018 Workshop Locations were:
Middle School and High School Program- We continue our S.T.E².A.M. focus and support girls in 6th to 12th grades with Monthly Meetings with scientific workshops, field trips, and STEM mentoring opportunities with our community and corporate partners. The program year is from September to June. (Registration required)
